South Korean boy band EXO, the darlings of S.M. Entertainment, rocked the Olympic Gymnastics Arena in its Seoul encore concert on Sunday, with an ear-popping mass chorus by its fans.

EXO's nine heartthrobs shot up the temperature of the early spring stage for "EXO PLANET #2 The EXO'luXion [dot]," an encore concert held in the gymnastics arena at Olympic Park in southeastern Seoul. The concert was an encore to the exclusive show that the band staged in Seoul in March 2015 -- herein comes the "dot."

Some 1,500 EXO fans surged into the arena on the last day of the three-day encore concert series that began on Friday. The fandom created a giant wave of white glow sticks, the official color of the band, while singing along with the band's hit songs.

EXO performed a total of 28 songs in the 210-minute marathon concert, exploding onto the roomy 55-meter-by-25-meter stage with its greatest hits "Growl," "Call Me Baby" and "Love Me Right."

The group drew the curtains with "Overdose," the title track of its second mini album of the same name, elaborated in a blasting rock version.

EXO's Kai joined the stage on crutches due to an ankle injury incurred during a dance rehearsal. He partly showed up on the stage, seated on a chair.

"I feel sorry for failing to perfect the concert and beg your pardon," the 22-year-old member apologized.

Screams of excitement filled the arena while the group staged "Baby Don't Cry," a song from EXO's first full-length album "XOXO:

Kiss & Hug." EXO's Sehun, also 22, stunned the fans with a seductive performance in a swimming pool on a sub-stage.

EXO's "Lucky," another piece from "XOXO," created a moment of frantic ecstasy among the crowd. The boy band hid their charisma in adorable animal outfits as a baby bunny, kitty, penguin, white tiger, sheep and many more.

The concert mounted to climax when a DJ box was set up in the center of the stage. EXO's Chanyeol flaunted his DJ skills with the band's hits "Let Out The Beast" and "Drop That."

Towards the finale of the concert, EXO staged four encore songs, "GirlXFriend," "Unfair," "Sing For You" and "EXO 2014."

Bidding farewell to the fans, EXO leader Suho cheered them, saying, "This is the end of 'The EXO'luXion [dot]' but the history of EXO will go on. The history won't be the work of our own, but something we and our fans build on together."

The Sunday concert culminated EXO's year-long world tour. Since March 2015, EXO's world tour wowed K-pop fans in 44 concerts in a total of 25 regions around the world, including Tokyo, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Bangkok, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles and Vancouver. (Yonhap)
