Standard Chartered Bank Korea chief Richard Hill, ADT CAPS Korea chief Bradley Buckwalter and the American Chamber of Commerce Korea president Amy Jackson were conferred honorary Seoul citizenships, the Seoul Metropolitan Government said.

A total of 15 international leaders, including the three, received the citizenship certificate from Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon at Sejong Center for the Performing Arts in central Seoul on Monday.

Since 1958, the municipality has presented honorary citizenships to political leaders, diplomatic delegates and visitors from other countries who greatly contributed to the internationalization of the city.

Hill was recognized for enhancing the city’s business environment and attracting foreign investment, the municipality said. He has led many social contribution activities for the country’s visually impaired population, such as compiling audiobooks and raising funds. He has also supported youth soccer teams as the country’s first vice chair of the Korea Football Association.

Buckwalter was acclaimed for offering special prices to female customers who are often more physically vulnerable. He has led multiple safety specialists to schools for informative sessions.

Jackson was praised for strengthening cooperative ties between international firms and local companies. She has avidly introduced numerous scholarship programs for economically underprivileged students as well as career training sessions for elderly citizens and socially isolated people.
