American R&B singer-songwriter John Legend said he was happy to hold two concerts in Seoul on Tuesday and Wednesday. His visit to Korea is the first since he performed at the Olympic Hall in 2009.

“The fans were incredible on my last visit to Seoul. I’m glad we’re doing two shows this time. It’s going to be a lot of fun,” Legend said in an email interview.

“I’ll perform a mix of songs from all of my albums. Hopefully I’ll do everyone’s favorite.”

He specifically picked “Get Lifted,” “Once Again,” “Evolver” and “Wake Up!” as part of the set list for the AX-Hall act in eastern Seoul, which is part of Hyundai Card’s “Culture Project.”

As for any radiation fears coming from the latest quake in Japan, Legend said he had nothing to worry about.

“I spoke with my management and they spoke with the authorities to ensure that I had nothing to worry about,” the 33-year-old said.

“I’m looking forward to performing in Tokyo and I wish them all the best as they recover from this incredible tragedy.”

He added that even though he does not know much about the inter-Korean relationship, he “prays for peace and unity throughout the world including among Koreans.”

Legend has won nine Grammy Awards including three in 2010 alone for his album “Wake Up.”
