The bandmates of Twice discussed their 10th EP, “Taste of Love,” upon its release Friday.

It had been eight months since the band’s previous album, “Eyes Wide Open.”

“This is an album that took us a long time to make and consequently, expectations for the promotion are high,” said Jeongyeon. As many of their fans are looking forward to seeing something new, they would like to repay their fans with a range of fresh performances, she added.

The key word for the new EP is growth, according to Jihyo.

“The biggest difference would be that we’re able to talk about love with confidence,” she went on. “It can be said that we’ve found the answer to love in this album, while we were curious about it in the fifth EP.”

They are especially proud of the fact that their names appear in the credits for the lyrics of all the songs on this EP.

“We’ve been working on writing the words every time we come out with a new album so we could take up the challenge with self-assurance,” said Dahyun.

TXT performs 1st English song at GMA

Tomorrow X Together performed its first English-language song, “Magic,” onstage for the first time Thursday, in an appearance on ABC’s “Good Morning America” in the US.

The band was introduced as a “K-pop sensation” and performed the upbeat, trendy disco pop number on a set made to look like a casual diner. Their costumes harked back to the ’80s, pairing stonewashed jeans with cropped jackets over shirts in vivid colors.

This is an important steppingstone for the quintet, which is seeking to make further inroads into the global music industry.

On Saturday the band will be back on “Good Morning America” to present “0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You) feat. Seori” from its just-released second studio album, “The Chaos Chapter: Freeze.” While in the US it will also perform “Magic” on “The Late Late Show With James Corden” on Monday.

TXT released the music video for “Magic” on Friday, visually expressing the concept that human feelings are the true magic.

Mamamoo’s Wheein leaves company, but band goes on

Wheein of Mamamoo decided not to renew her contract with RBW Entertainment, the company said Friday.

She came to that decision after long, detailed discussions with the other band members and with the company, it said.

“We fully respect her decision and sincerely hope that happiness and luck will follow Wheein, who is standing at a new start line, all the time,” it said in a statement. She has agreed, however, to participate in the making of a new album and to appear with the band in a standalone concert by the end of 2023. The rest of the quartet -- Solar, Moonbyeol and Hwasa -- have renewed their contracts.

The four-piece act debuted in June 2014 and has become one of the leading female bands, releasing hit after hit. Each of the four members has also established herself as a solo artist.

Mamamoo is now preparing for its annual project. Called “Where We Are,” it will include a summer concert and a documentary.

BTOB to release new single

BTOB is putting out “Blue Moon,” a song it made for a recent competition show, as an official digital single on Sunday.

Agency Cube Entertainment shared an image on Friday of a couple dancing together under a lit-up sign that says “Blue Moon.”

The jazz tune was written by band member Minhyuk for “Kingdom: Legendary War,” a three-month-long contest among six boy bands in which BTOB competed against Stray Kids, iKON, SF9, Ateez and The Boyz. The song got the most fan requests during the program. Even though Stray Kids won the show, BTOB’s final performance was the most viewed with up to 370,000 concurrent viewers. The band participated in the program as a quartet because Hyunsik and Sungjae are currently serving their mandatory military duty.

G(I)-dle’s Miyeon joined the band onstage when it performed “Blue Moon” for the first time and the performance recalled “La La Land,” as Eunkwang said.
