South Korea’s No. 2 tech giant, LG Electronics Inc., said Friday it has received positive responses for its new curved-style handset G Flex 2 at the International ECS underway in the U.S., winning much media recognition.
The handset, unveiled at the show, was chosen for the CES Editors’ Choice Award by Reviewed.com, the company said. It was also on Digital Trends’ Top Tech of CES list and a CES Staff Pick by TechRadar, it said.
TechRadar reviewed the new smartphone as “more likely to be picked up by bored Android phone owners tired of the same flat design.”
“The awards again recognized LG’s outstanding smartphone technologies and design,” LG said in its release. “We plan to provide users with new smart lifestyles through continuous innovations.”
The G Flex 2 features a 5.5-inch display that curves inward from top to bottom, slightly smaller than its 6-inch predecessor.
The smartphone will become available in the home market this month and gradually reach overseas markets later this year. (Yonhap)
