Harvard University professor and philosopher Michael J. Sandel is about to start research into ethical dilemmas in Korean society.

Sandel will carry out the research along with the Asan Institute for Police Studies in Seoul, simultaneously in Korea and the United States, the institute announced on Friday.

The author of the best selling book, “Justice: What’s the Right Thing to Do?” will compare the perceptions of social justice in the different two societies.

He will also look to current issues, such as the government’s role and responsibility in global financial crisis and the redistribution of wealth in his new research, the institution said.

Sandel has taught his “Justice” course at Harvard for two decades, attracting more than 15,000 students and making it one of the most highly attended lectures in Harvard’s history.

The renowned professor is scheduled to give a special lecture at Yonsei University in Seoul on June 1.
