The UNHCR Korea will hold a special exhibition at Yeosu Expo starting from Sunday, marking World Refugee Day on June 20.
Under the theme “Risk at Sea, Rescue at Sea: The Choice is Yours,” the exhibition will display photographs and video clips showing the lives and difficulties of refugees around the world.
Every photograph and video clip depicts the true stories of refugees who are forced to flee their homes to escape persecution, war and conflict. Visitors will also have a chance to see inside a real refugee tent set up at the exhibition venue, the organizer said.
The exhibition runs from 9 a.m. through 9 p.m. in the UN Pavilion at the Yeosu Expo until June 30.
The UNHCR Korea, which opened as a liaison office in 2001, currently assists some 4,500 asylum seekers in Korea.
