GILBERTSVILLE, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say a shooting in a rural area outside Philadelphia has left two people dead and three others injured, and a manhunt is under way for the shooter.

Police were sent to Douglass Township in Montgomery County late Saturday after reports of a shooting.

First Assistant District Attorney Kevin R. Steele confirmed with The Associated Press on Sunday that a child and an adult were slain and three other people were injured and hospitalized. Their conditions weren't immediately released.

Steele says all the victims appear to be from the same family. He says no suspect is in custody, and police don't have a description of the shooter.

The shooting took place about 30 miles northwest of Philadelphia.
