The Canadian province of British Colombia and South Korea’s Gyeonggi Province strengthened their ties with a sister province agreement.

British Columbia Premier Christy Clark said that Korea and Gyeonggi’s partnership, built on billions of dollars in annual bilateral trade, is “bringing together businesses and the education sector to create jobs and opportunities in both provinces.”

Gyeonggi Governor Kim Moon-soo said that “with progressive agreements in an array of sectors,” his province would look forward to “continuing the invaluable partnership for many years to come.”

Both leaders also signed the Gyeonggi-B.C. Progress Report on the Sister Province Action Plan for 2010-2012.

In related news, Taejang High School in Gyeonggi and Victoria High School in British Columbia signed an agreement aimed at promoting closer ties between students and teachers in the two provinces.
