Hanwha names chief of city development subsidiary

Hanwha Group appointed Bong Hee-ryong as the new chief executive of Hanwha City Development on Friday.

According to the group, Bong was selected to head the company in light of his achievements in urban-development projects including Hanwha Engineering and Construction Co.’s EcoMetro project ― a large scale project converting an industrial site into a residential complex.

Before his appointment, Bong served as the chief of Hanwha E&C’s residential housing division. Established in December 2009, Hanwha City Development is a holdings company that holds a number of special purpose companies including Asan Techno Valley.

Bong, who graduated from Hanyang University with a degree in urban planning and engineering, has held a number of posts within Hanwha E&C’s residential housing division including that of its chief since February 2008.
