The Korea Tourism Organization said it will attract Japanese tourists to Daegu through a series of promotional meetings in five major cities of Japan from March 7 to March 12.
Daegu is scheduled to host the International Association of Athletics Federations World Championships from Aug. 27 to Sept. 4, and the KTO has set the year 2011 as “Visit Daegu Year” to boost tourism in the city.
The KTO’s itinery for Daegu promotion includes meetings with Japanese travel industry experts and media in Nagoya on Monday, Tokyo on Tuesday, Osaka and Hukuoka on Thursday, and Hiroshima on Friday.
Hiroshima, sister city of Daegu, will hold “The Night of Daegu Tourism” event on March 12, inviting 1,400 Japanese citizens to a showcase of Korean cultural performances including “JUMP,” a non-verbal comic martial arts show, the KTO said.
