President Park Geun-hye will meet with government officials and businesspeople next week to discuss ways to boost trade and investment during the prolonged economic slump, a senior government official said Thursday.
The meeting, scheduled to be held at the presidential office next Wednesday, will be the first of its kind under the new government of President Park, who took office in late February. A large number of businesspeople are expected to attend along with economy-related ministers and chiefs of relevant government agencies.
“The meeting will have a focus on promoting investment, which the president has often stressed as the driving force of economic revival,” the official told Yonhap News Agency by phone, asking that he not be identified. (Yonhap News)
