Midfielder Park Ji-sung of Dutch Eredivisie league’s PSV Eindhoven scored the second goal of the season along with an assist on Sunday, lifting his team to a 4-0 victory against Ajax.

The South Korean played 90 minutes for the first time since he transferred to his current team, brushing off concerns among his fans that his recent injuries and fatigue might put a strain on his play at the new team.

Eindhoven started off strong with Tim Matavz and Jetro Willems scoring the first two goals of the match.

With his team up 2-0 and 19 minutes into the second half, Park penetrated the Ajax’s defense from the right side and connected a timely pass to Oscar Hiljemark, who netted a goal. After snatching the ball from the back row, Park scored the fourth goal of the match.

It marked the first time since Aug. 25 that Park registered a goal.

With its win against Ajax, Eindhoven moved to the top of the Dutch league with four wins and three draws. It has been nine years since Eindhoven defeated Ajax by a margin of four goals.

Park Ji-sung is dubbed ":oxygen tank" by his fans. He earned a reputation being a leader of South Korean national team to the round of 16 at 2010 World Cup in South Africa. He also played a key role in the South Korea that reached the semi-finals of 2002 Korea-Japan.
