Han Sung Motor, the largest official dealer of Mercedes-Benz in South Korea, will support a public art project run by the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture to create art installation works on streets of the capital city next month, the company said Thursday.

Dream Gream scholarship recipients, Han Sung Motor employees and citizens will participate in the project titled “Sowon Bandi,” to create a collection of 5,000 solar-power light lamps, each of which holds a person’s wishes and dreams. 

The artworks will be displayed on the streets near Deoksugung Palace in Seoul from mid-November through December. Han Sung Motor has donated 50 million won ($42,600) for the project and additional costs for a series of barrier-free performances will be held as part of the project.

As participants, students from the Dream Gream scholarship program joined a two-day workshop last month to create a brick work that embodies the abstract concept of a green and art city. Titled “My Imaginary Eco-City,” the students’ work will be unveiled next month.

Han Sung Motor has been working with the Seoul Foundation for Arts and Culture since 2014 to help students from its Dream Gream program demonstrate their talents through public art projects.
