An exhibition featuring small and affordable paintings by established South Korean artists opened last week at Gallery Is in Insa-dong, central Seoul.

Organized by Korea Art Center, the exhibition displays a total of 500 paintings ― sized from about 33 centimeters wide 24 centimeters long to 40 centimeters wide and 31 centimeters long ― as well as sculptures and calligraphy works.

List of participating artists include veterans such as Seo Se-ok and Kwon Ok-yeon to hot contemporary artists like Kim Gu-rim and Lee Doo-sik. Actor Kang Seok-woo and actress Kim Ae-kyeong’s works can also be found at the show. Prices range from less than 1 million won ($950) to more than 3 million won, but about half of the exhibits are priced somewhere around 1 million won.

“We did not simply focus on the commercial aspect but also tried to show many sides of Korean art. We are looking into ways to hold the show every year,” said Lee Il-young, director of Korea Art Center.
