California Restaurant Month takes place in January, offering a variety of dining experiences at restaurants, bistros and cafes in the third largest state in the U.S. Visit California, the state’s tourism agency, is holding the gourmet event that will present celebrity chef dinners, wine-paring specials and gourmet prix-fixe events at special discounted prices during the promotion. A total of 33 cities are participating in the month-long event including Berkeley, Beverly Hills, Long Beach, Los Angeles and Santa Monica. California boasts major production of fruits, nuts and vegetables in 81,000 farms and the gourmet tour is one of the theme tours favored by tourists.
