AMSTERDAM (AP) _ A Dutch broadcaster _ renowned for testing the limits of good taste and the law _ says it will air a segment in which two presenters engage in cannibalism by eating a small chunk of one another's fried flesh.

A BNN spokesman said Tuesday the men had each had a small piece of tissue surgically removed for the stunt _ one from his side and the other from his buttocks.

Presenter Dennis Storm said in a press release that his motivation was a simple desire to know how human flesh tastes.

A teaser clip for the show ``Guinea Pigs,'' which airs Wednesday, shows the two men looking on as a chef fries tiny pieces of meat in a pan.

In 2007, BNN aired a fake game show in which people who needed kidney transplants competed on live television for a supposedly terminally ill woman's kidney. The woman was an actress and the show was a hoax, but it was praised by some for raising awareness of the need for donors and went on to win an international Emmy award.

Spokesman Thijs Verheij said Wednesday's show is real, but acknowledged the broadcaster had lied about ``The Big Donor Show.'' He said the cannibalism episode had already been taped in front of witnesses.

``With the donor show we had a point to make, now there's no point,'' he said. ``If at the end of all the buildup we said 'just kidding,' we'd look like fools.''

One of the country's best-known criminal defense lawyers is participating in the program, and was quoted saying that cannibalism is not expressly illegal in the Netherlands.

However, ``cutting and removing flesh from a healthy body without medical reason is illegal,'' Gerard Spong said. ``Eating meat obtained in this way is ... punishable.''

BNN, which targets a youth audience, has previously aired programs such as ``Shooting and Swallowing'' in which presenters used illegal drugs and performed sex acts.

네덜란드 TV쇼 인육 먹기에 도전

네덜란드의 한 TV 리얼리티 프로그램에서 출연자들이 서로의 살을 맛보는 장면이 방송될 예정이다.

20일(현지시간) 네덜란드 민영 BNN 방송사는 다음날 방영될 '기니 피그(Guinea Pigs·실험대상)'라는 제목의 방송 예고편에서 이같은 내용을 공개했고 이후 온라인 상에서 논란이 일었다.

영상에는 남성 출연자 데니스 스톰과 발레리오 제노가 고기를 굽는 요리사를 바라보는 장면, 상대를 응시하며 먹는 시늉을 하는 장면이 있었다. 이를 통해 이들이 상대방의 살을 맛보는 것을 짐작게 했다.

BNN 방송 대변인은 수술을 통해 한 사람은 옆구리에서 다른 한 사람은 엉덩이에서 살점 일부를 도려냈다고 밝혔으며, 방송 진행자인 데니스 스톰도 인육을 먹게 된 계기는 맛이 궁금해서였다고 말했다.

그러나 한편에서 이 프로그램의 진위에도 관심이 쏠리고 있다.

BNN 방송사가 지난 2007년 방영했던 장기기증 리얼리티쇼 '더 빅도너쇼(The Big Donor Show)'가 가짜 프로그램으로 드러난 전력이 있기 때문이다.

이에 BNN 방송 대변인은 "'더 빅도너쇼'는 거짓이지만 이번 쇼는 진짜"라면서 "이미 방청객들 앞에서 녹화를 마친 상태"라고 거짓논란을 잠재웠다.

그러나 UPI 통신은 영국 타블로이드 '더 선'의 보도를 인용, 이번 쇼는 장기 기 증 인식을 높이기 위해 제작된 '가짜'라고 전했다.
