Korean cultural foundation to hold TV drama writers’ conference in Fukuoka

The Korea Foundation for International Culture Exchange will hold the “TV Drama Writers Conference of Asia” from July 10-15 in Fukuoka, Japan, the foundation said Tuesday.
Leading drama writers and producers from Asian countries, including South Korea, Japan, Singapore and Vietnam, will gather at the Fukuoka conference to discuss the current trends in Asian TV dramas and ways of cooperation in joint production of dramas.
Participants will include Lee Keum-rim, chairwoman of the Korean TV and Radio Writers’ Association, and Kazuhiko Ban, author of TV drama Hunter~Sono Onnatachi, Shoukin Kasegi.
Kim Kyung-hee, secretary general of the KOFICE, said the conference, the seventh of its kind, is expected to broaden the network among writers and producers of dramas in Asia and prepare the foundation for joint production of dramas to gain a competitive edge in the world market.
