South Korean traditional fermented sauce manufacturer Sempio has launched three new types of black vinegar jam under its vinegar sub-brand 100Year.

The jam was made by adding blueberry, pomegranate, and lemon and ginger to 100 percent naturally-fermented black vinegar. To achieve a healthier taste and smoother texture, the company used agave syrup, instead of sugar, as the jam’s main sweetener.

The blueberry black vinegar jam includes whole blueberries, whereas the pomegranate black vinegar jam can be added to sparkling water to create a refreshing beverage for the summer, the company said.

Meanwhile, the lemon-ginger black vinegar jam is reportedly beneficial for those with respiratory symptoms, as it includes ginger, known for its therapeutic qualities.

The black vinegar jam, each 490g, is priced at 9,100 won ($7.80) and is on sale at supermarkets and department stores across the country.
