Shakira and Usher are to replace Christina Aguilera and CeeLo Green as mentors for Season 4 of the U.S. competition series "The Voice," NBC announced.

Current "Voice" coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton will stay with the show when it returns for its fourth outing next spring.

Aguilera and Green, who are leaving the series to fulfill other professional commitments, are expected to return the following season, Robert Greenblatt, chairman of NBC Entertainment, said in a statement Monday.

"We are thrilled to welcome Usher and Shakira to 'The Voice.' The addition of these popular iconic artists continues the tradition established by Christina, CeeLo, Adam and Blake," said Greenblatt.

"Doing two back-to-back cycles of this show requires a tremendous amount of time, and we are happy to accommodate the commitments made by Christina and CeeLo. The participants on our show benefit from our coaches' expertise and their continued success in the music business allows for significant new contributions to the contestants when they return."

‘더 보이스’의 새로운 코치진 더 화려해졌다

미국 NBC가 방영하는 '더 보이스(The Voice)' 시즌 4에  가수 샤키라(Shakira)와 어셔(Usher)가 새로운 코치로 프로그램에 합류한다.

지난 시즌까지 함께했던 코치 아담 라빈(Adam Levine)과 블레이크 셸턴(Blake Shelton)은 잔류하기로 결정됐으며 크리스티나 아귈레라(Christina Aguilera)와 씨 로 그린(CeeLo Green)는 음악에 전념하고 다른 스케줄을 소화하기 위해 프로그램을 떠나게 됐지만 다음 시즌에 돌아올 것으로 예상된다고 NBC 엔터테인먼트의 회장 로버트 그린블랏(Robert Greenblatt)이 성명을 통해 월요일 말했다.

그린블랏은 “우리는 어셔와 샤키라를 더없이 환영한다. 두 인기 가수의 합류를 통해 크리스티나와 씨 로, 아담과 블레이크가 확립한 전통을 이어갈 것"이라고 말했다.

그는 또 “이 쇼의 연속적인 사이클은 엄청나게 오랜 시간을 필요로 하기 때문에 크리스티나와 씨 로의 결정을 존중한다. 참가자들은 코치들이 이룬 음악계에서의 지속적인 성공과 전문적인 기술을 통해 도움을 받았으며, 그들이 돌아오면 참가자들에게 새롭고 중대한 기여를 할 것이라고 생각한다”고 덧붙였다.
