American jazz musician Marcus Miller and members of his band were hurt Sunday when their tour bus crashed in Switzerland, killing the driver, police said.

The Swiss newspaper 20 Minuten reported Miller, 10 band members and a backup driver were not seriously injured.

The newspaper said the bus overturned about 11 a.m. on the A2 highway between Erstfeld and Fluelen. The cause of the crash had not been determined.

The 53-year-old, Grammy-winning musician provided no details on his website, but his homepage stated: “Thanks to everyone for your thoughts and prayers.”

The band had played in Monaco Saturday and was on the way to Hengelo, Holland, for another performance Monday. (UPI)

유명 뮤지션, 스위스서 전복사고 당해


미국 재즈 뮤지션 마커스 밀러(Marcus Miller, 53)와 밴드 동료들이 탄 투어버스가 스위스에서 지난 일요일 충돌사고를 당해 운전하던 버스 기사가 숨지고 탑승객들이 다쳤다고 현지 경찰이 밝혔다.

스위스 현지 언론인 20미누텐(20 Minuten)은 마커스 밀러와 10명의 밴드 멤버들, 그리고 보조 운전사가 입은 부상은 심각한 수준은 아니라고 보도했다.

보도에 따르면 이들이 탄 버스는 지난 일요일 오전 11시경 고속도로 인근에서 전복사고를 당했으나 사고 원인은 명확하지 않은 것으로 알려졌다.

그래미 수상을 통해 역량을 입증받은 재즈아티스트 마커스 밀러는 홈페이지를 통해 “걱정해주신 팬들에게 감사한다”고 밝혔다.
