The 15th “Tuna Festival,” presented by the Philippines Department of Tourism, will take place Aug. 5 to 9 in General Santos City. This festival is held to promote development in the city, with a focus on thanking the sea for providing the major source of income in the region, where more than 40,000 tons of tuna are caught each year. There will be a flag raising ceremony, tuna float parade, street dance competition, and many more colorful events with hundreds of participants. At Tuna Village, visitors will be able to taste a variety of dishes made with fresh-caught tuna.
