Now accepted by more institutions than any other graduate admissions test, the GRE® revised General Test provides more options and opportunities for test takers.  No wonder more individuals than ever before are taking it. Here are five reasons why there’s never been a better time to take the GRE revised General Test.

1. It is the one test applicants can use to apply to graduate and business schools around the world. GRE scores are used for admissions decisions for master's, MBA and Ph.D. programs as well as for awarding fellowships. Applicants considering one or more advanced degrees now have more options than with any other graduate admissions test and more opportunities for their future. Plus, the GRE revised General Test is less expensive than other graduate admissions tests used by business schools.

2. More than 3,000 institutions globally accept GRE scores for admissions to their graduate programs. Now, nearly 900 business schools worldwide — including most top programs ranked by U.S. News & World Report and the Financial Times— accept GRE scores for admission into their MBA and other graduate business programs, and MBA applicants around the world are taking the GRE revised General Test.

“Accepting GRE scores is a win-win for both students and the graduate program,” said Harvie Wilkinson, Director of MBA programs for the Gatton College of Business at the University of Kentucky. “The student now has more options, and with that, the business school becomes more diverse; with different backgrounds working together, better projects are able to be produced.”

3. The ScoreSelect℠ option, available as of July 2012, helps test takers approach test day with more confidence, knowing they can send the scores they feel reflect their personal best. With this new option, GRE test takers can decide which test scores to send to the institutions they designate.  Learn more at www.ets.org/gre/scoreselect.

4. The GRE revised General Test, introduced in August 2011, features a flexible, test-taker friendly design that allows test takers to use more of their own personal test-taking style and strategies. Specific features include preview and review capabilities within a section, “mark and review” feature to tag questions so you can skip and return later within a section, the ability to change/edit answers within a section, and an on-screen calculator for the Quantitative Reasoning section.  All of this means a better test experience.

5. Test takers can prepare for the GRE revised General Test using free and downloadable tools available at www.ets.org/gre/prepare. Preparation tools include POWERPREP® II software, the only practice experience that’s as close to the actual test as you can get. The software includes a full-length practice test as well as strategies, sample questions and more. The GRE Program also provides a free math review and low-cost test preparation tools to help students familiarize themselves with the test and prepare for test day.
The test-taker friendly design, the new ScoreSelect option and more advanced degree opportunities mean it just got easier to start your future now with the GRE revised General Test. To register visit
