The Gwangju International Center is holding a special event to celebrate the achievements of the GIC and its volunteers.

Adios 2011 will feature a look back on a year in which the GIC got a new coordinator and started a program of tours with English guides.

The Gwangju International Center is a non-government organization that provides assistance to expats in and around the city. The GIC provides advice on living in Korea, language classes, and a library with more than 3,400 books.

In addition to other services, GIC Talks provide lectures on a range of subjects in English, and GIC Tours provide guided trips in English around Gwangju and to nearby places. The center also publishes a monthly magazine, the Gwangju News.

The GIC will give certificates to volunteers, book donors and active members, and GIC coordinators and volunteers will perform songs.

The event will end with a potluck dinner and a flea market. Those interested can donate items that not in use anymore or new items. There will be clothes, books, accessories, and shoes for sale.
