Seorae Global Village Center is offering classes on how to make special Seollal and Daeboreum dishes on Jan. 18.
For Seollal, the class will learn how to make mandu, a kind of pork dumpling. While a separate class will teach students how to make Yaksik ― a sweet rice cake with nuts and jujubes ― for Daeboreum.
Seollal is the Lunar New Year in Korea and is on Jan. 22 this year, while Daeboreum marks the first full moon of the lunar year.
The classes are at Seorae GVC. The mandu class is at 4 p.m., while the yaksik class starts at 5 p.m. Participation fee is around 3,000-5,000 won, depending on whether students make one recipe or both, and how much.
To attend you should reserve stating whether you wish to make mandu, yaksik or both, with your name, nationality, and contact details at seorae@sba.seoul.kr.
There will be other events including introductions to Seollal traditions on the same day and art classes on this and next Friday.
