Itaewon Global Village Center will offer a class on Makgeolli making at a brewery from 7 p.m. on Thursday Jan. 12.

Makgeolli is an alcoholic beverage native to Korea. It is a milky off-white color and made by fermenting boiled rice, water and yeast.

The class will include a trip to the brewery of a Korean liquor company starting out from the Itaewon Global Village. Participants will learn about the characteristics and history of Korean liquor, and also learn how to make Makgeolli.

They will also have a chance to taste fresh Neurin Maeul Makgeolli. After making their own Makgeolli, they can take it home with them. The course costs 25,000 won for 2 liters of Makgeolli.
