Grab your snapbacks and pull on your high-tops for a night of hip-hop at “See More on the Beat,” featuring both first-generation hip-hop artists and rising rookies.

The festival kicks off on Dec. 7 at lounge Wav, located beside the Han River.

Organizers say the concert will focus on hip-hop performances you can not just listen to, but also see and feel with your whole body. Event organizers have also hinted at possible collaborations between the artists.

Aside from the line-up which includes prominent artists in the hip-hop arena such as Garion, Honey Family, Baechigi, Outsider and Crispi Crunch, there will also be dance performances by Poppin’ Hyunjun and Monster Woo Fam.

Garion consists of members MC Meta and Naachal. The group formed in 1998 and is considered the founding fathers of Korean underground hip-hop. MC Meta served as leader for the Meta Crew on Mnet hip-hop audition show “Show Me the Money” which finished earlier this year.

Honey Family started out in 1999 and was able to successfully latch onto the Korean mainstream. Previous members of Honey Family include Leessang duo Kang Gary and Gil.

“Dancing 9” judge Poppin’ Hyunjun is known worldwide for his dance skills and will be performing alongside world champion krump crew Monster Woo Fam, led by Monster Woo. The dancer recently appeared on “Infinite Challenge” to serve as a choreographer for the BoA and Gil team for the “2013 Freedom Song Festival.”

Baechigi and Outsider have both been accepted into the mainstream. Made up of rapper Mu Woong and Tak, Baechigi’s songs are known for their unique blend of traditional Korean sounds and modern elements. Outsider is known for his speed-rapping and has hit songs “Loner,” and “Hero,” and a remake of Big Bang’s “Lies” under his belt.

Hip-hop group Crispi Crunch, with members CSP and Cheezy, formed in 2010. The quirky and colorful duo is not afraid to create controversy and turned heads with the music video for track “Thumbs Up,” featuring a kiss between a same-sex couple and violence.

“See More on the Beat” will be a standing concert and tickets can be purchased through Interpark. Ticket sales will also be made available on Auction Ticket and YES24 from Nov. 11.
