Korean students attending Korea National University of Arts swept the International Dance Festival Tanzolymp held from Feb. 24 to 28 in Berlin, Germany.

Han Tae-jun and Lee Heung-won both won the top prize in the contemporary dance category, followed by Yun Na-ra who came in second. Han and Lee will be exempted from military service as a result of their winning top prizes at a UNESCO-designated competition.

On the ballet front, Yang Chae-eun and Na Dae-han shared first place in the Pas de Deux category. In the ballet senior category, Yun Hyo-min came in second and Kim Su-min third.

The dance festival which celebrates its ninth year is one of the four major dance concours in the world and the biggest in Europe. Dancers in a wide range of genres including classic, neoclassic, modern, folk and jazz compete at the festival. This year, 500 dancers from 30 countries participated.
