Paul Ricard Oceanography Institute, founded by international liquor group Pernod Ricard, signed a sisterhood agreement with Korea Maritime and Ocean University during a 50-year anniversary seminar in France last week, the company’s Korean unit said Tuesday.
The sisterhood partnership was concluded by KMOU president Kim Yun-hae and IOPR president Patricia Richard to promote the mutual development of oceanography and education of their young scientists.
Officially approved by the Committee of Korea-France Year of Mutual Exchange, the partnership advocates academic, scientific and educational cooperation in the field of oceanography, company officials said.
“We are pleased to contribute to academic cooperation in the field of oceanography in this Year of Korea-France Mutual Exchange,” an official from Pernod Ricard Korea said.
“This agreement is expected to bring mutual benefit and progress for both organizations, while sharing knowledge and experiences.”
