American singer-songwriter Rachael Yamagata will stage a live concert in Seoul in March.

The concert is scheduled for March 14-15 at the Baekyang Concert Hall of Yonsei University in northwestern Seoul.

Jazz-pop musician Emi Meyer, a friend of Yamagata, is slated to perform alongside the main artist.

The concert, her fourth gig held in Seoul, is focused on delivering a “live acoustic” sound this time, so will exclude as much electronic sound as possible, according to Southern Star Entertainment, Yamagata’s management agency in Korea.

Yamagata shot to fame in 2004 with her debut album “Happenstance,” which earned her praise as the year’s “most promising new artist” from major music magazines such as Rolling Stone and Billboard.

Yamagata is best known for her colorful and dreamy voice coupled with her lyrical piano and guitar chords. She has covered diverse genres including ballad, folk and alternative rock, gaining praise as a versatile artist.

Her single “Be Be your Love” has become one of Korea’s most beloved foreign pop songs ever since it was used as background music in a local phone advertisement.

Many of Yamagata’s songs have been featured in movies and American television shows including “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants,” “Bella,” “Prime,” “How I Met Your Mother,” “One Tree Hill,” “E.R.” and “The O.C.”

Tickets for the March concert will be available starting Jan. 29 on Interpark and YES24.
