뉴욕에 위치한 JYP 엔터테인먼트의 레코딩 스튜디오가 아직도 ‘불법’ 건물 사용으로 벌금형에 처하게 될 위기에 놓였다.

뉴욕시의 웹사이트에 따르면 JYP는 맨하탄에 있는 JYP의 뉴욕 사무소가 지하부터 3층까지 “사무실”로 등록 되어 있음에도 불구하고 1층을 레코딩 스튜디오로 사용한 것에 대해서 위반일 가능성을 제기했다.

벌금은 ECB (Environment Control Board) 위반 벌금 표에 따라 1,200달러가 부과될 수 있고 11월 1일에 있는 공판 결과에 따라 최고 10,000달러까지 올라갈 수 있다.

JYP는 2009년부터 지금까지 뉴욕시에서 지적한 8가지의 뉴욕사무소 불법 사용 위반사항에 대해 거의 15,000달러 (약 1,650만원)에 달하는 벌금을 냈다.

JYP Entertainment’s recording studio in New York City is expected to face fines for a construction violation.

According to NYC Department of Building’s website, the major K-pop agency could be fined $1,200 for using the first floor of the building in Manhattan as a “music studio,” while the basement to third floor is registered as an “office.”

The Web document indicates that the maximum penalty of $10,000 could be imposed, depending on the hearing scheduled for Nov. 1.
