미국 로스앤젤레스를 기반으로 한 성인용 영화 그룹이 남자 배우들의 매독에 감염이 증가함에 따라 일시적인 포르노 영화 생산 중단을 선언했다.

감독과 판매자 등 포르노 영화 산업 관계자로 구성된 단체인 더 프리 스피치 콜리에이션(The Free Speech Coalition)은 웹사이트에 공지된 성명서를 통해 “잠정적으로 생산 중단에 들어간다. 모든 감독들은 이 정지기간을 지켜주길 바란다”며 협조를 촉구했다.

이 협회는 매독에 보균 연기자들은 항생 치료를 받은 후 10일 내 촬영장으로 복귀할 수 있으며, 현재 1,000명 이상의 남자 배우들이 매독 검사를 받고 있다고 덧붙였다.

이 단체는 지난 토요일(현지시각) LA 카운티 보건 당국이 포르노 산업에 종사하는 배우들의 매독 감염이 지난 주에 최소 5명으로 증가함에 따라 조사를 하겠다고 나선 바로 다음날인 일요일 생산 중단을 선언했다. (코리아 헤럴드)

U.S. porn industry calls for moratorium over possible syphilis outbreak

A Los Angeles-based trade association has called for a temporary halt to shooting adult films after several cases of syphilis were found among porn actors and more than 1,000 performers were tested for the disease.

The Free Speech Coalition, whose members consist of a broad range of adult businesses from producers to retailers, has advocated a “temporary moratorium on production and asks that all producers honor this moratorium.”

In a statement posted on its official website, the FSC said the infected actors will be able to come back to work within 10 days once they are treated with antibiotics.

The moratorium was announced Saturday, a day after Los Angeles County announced they were investigating an increase in syphilis cases in the porn industry -- at least five cases in the previous week.
