NEW YORK (UPI) -- U.S. singer-actress Jessica Simpson said “motherhood is a dream” Monday on the series premiere of Katie Couric‘s talk show, “Katie.”

Simpson, 32, gave birth to her first child, a daughter named Maxwell, May 1. She is engaged to former NFL tight end Eric Johnson, also 32.

“Motherhood is a dream,” Simpson told Couric in her first TV interview since having the baby. “It really is absolutely amazing. She had her first flight yesterday, she came to New York with me. .... And did not sleep. She did not sleep. She slept the last hour but she didn’t cry. She just wanted to babble. She’s doing the babble thing and she just started laughing ... which is the best noise I’ve ever heard in my life.”

Asked if she and Johnson have set a wedding date yet, Simpson replied: “We have not. We haven‘t had time. Maxwell has definitely taken up all of our time. And I want to do a really big, fun wedding with all of my friends and family.”

제시카심슨 ’딸바보’ 대열 합류

미국의 가수이자 배우인 제시카 심슨이 ’케이티’ 토크쇼에 출연해 "엄마가 된 것은 꿈 같다"라고 말했다.

심슨은 자신의 딸이 "어제 첫 비행을 했다"며 비행시간동안 울지도 않고 옹알이를 했다며 딸 자랑에 흠뻑 빠졌다.

그녀는 "딸이 옹아리를 하고 웃는 소리는 자신의 인생에서 가장 멋진 소음이다"라고 말했다.

존슨과의 결혼 날짜를 잡았냐는 질문에 그는 "맥스웰이 우리의 시간을 다 잡아먹는다"라고 하며 아직 결혼 날짜를 잡지 못했다고 말했다. 그러나 결혼식은 가족, 친구들과 매우 성대하고 재미있게 치르고 싶다고 전했다.
