North Korea held its first cabinet meeting since its long-time leader Kim Jong-il's death, the state media said Sunday.

According to North Korea's official Korea Central News Agency
(KCNA), the North's cabinet members convened an enlarged plenary
meeting earlier in the day to review last year's national economic
plans and to discuss economic tasks for this year.

The latest meeting was the convened for the first time since
Kim died of a heart attack on Dec. 17 after decades of an iron-fist
rule.

North Korea holds quarterly cabinet meetings to discuss the
national economy.

Choe Yong-rim, the country's premier, and cabinet members set
developing the light industry and agriculture as this year's
prioritized tasks, the KCNA said. (Yonhap News)
