Former Speaker Kim to teach at Pusan National University

Pusan National University in Busan recently appointed former National Assembly speaker and five-time lawmaker Kim Hyong-o, 67, as a chair professor of the Institute of Social Science Research. He is to give lectures on political science to undergraduates and graduates beginning this spring semester, school officials said.
He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in political science from Seoul National University and completed the doctoral course in political science at Kyungnam University in Changwon, South Gyeongsang Province.
His career as a five-term lawmaker from 1992 to 2012 includes stints as chairman of the science, technology, information and telecommunication committee; floor leader of the Grand National Party, the Saenuri Party’s predecessor; vice chairman of the Lee Myung-bak presidential transition committee; speaker of the 18th National Assembly; and a member of the foreign, trade and reunification committee.
