Why Korean men date older women
South Korean men who prefer dating women older than them expect more consideration, a generous view on expressing intimacy, and an economic advantage from their girlfriends, a survey showed on Wednesday.
The local matchmaking company DUO conducted a survey on 479 single men and discovered 22.3 percent of the participants are attracted to older women because of their ability to better understand their boyfriends’ feelings.
Those surveyed also cited that older girlfriends are more open to expressing affection and intimacy. They said they feel less pressured to spend money when going out with older women.
In contrast, the respondents said that having older girlfriends has some disadvantages such as the lingering social bias against such relationships and their self-confidence problems when their income is lower than their partner’s.
