Psy will perform onstage Wednesday in front of crowds gathered on the Yeongdong road in southern Seoul to watch the Korea-Russia World Cup match.
The South Korean pop star, is expected to perform his new song “Hangover” live for the first time. The exact time of his appearance and content of the performance are not yet decided.
As the grassy square in front of City Hall, the usual spot for street cheering during the World Cup, has turned into memorial altar for the victims of the Sewol tragedy, this year’s street cheering will take place mainly on the Yeongdong road, near Coex in Gangnam.
About 1,000 police will be deployed to ensure public safety. In the early hours on Wednesday, some roads will be closed for the cheering crowds.
Meanwhile, Psy is proving his steadfast popularity with the music video to “Hangover” exceeding 60 million YouTube views on Monday, only a week after its release.
