A local book club is hosting two famous authors on May 25.

Novelist Kim Young-ha, whose internationally-acclaimed works “I Have the Right to Destroy Myself” and “Your Republic is Calling You” have earned him fans at home and abroad, is the invited speaker for the 10 Magazine Book Club meeting organized by Sookmyung Women’s University professor Barry Welsh.

Krys Lee, the Korean-American author of “Drifting House,” will moderate the meeting.

Internationally recognized as a master of storytelling ― his books have been translated into seven languages ― Kim is famous for weaving together post-modern issues using complex characters. Also popular among filmmakers, Kim’s works have been adapted to the big screen.

10 Magazine Book Club has hosted meetings twice a month since August 2011 where book lovers and guest authors freely discuss selected works. The meetings are bilingual, with Korean and English interpretations provided.

The event will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on May 25 in Haechi Hall on the 5th floor of M Plaza in Myeong-dong. Admission is 5,000 won, but students can attend for free. For more information, call 010-5138-8859.
