South Korea enjoyed a one-two finish in men's 50-meter pistol shooting at the London Olympics Sunday.

Jin Jong-oh won his second straight Olympic gold in the event with the final score of 662. He shot 100 points in the final, in addition to 562 in the 60-shot qualification round.

Teammate Choi Young-rae grabbed the silver at a combined 661.5 points. Choi was the top qualifier with 569 points and he shot 92.5 points in the final.

Wang Zhiwei of China was the bronze medalist with 658.6 points.

With his final bullet, Jin erased a 1.6-point deficit with a 10.2 out of maximum 10.9. Choi mustered only an 8.1 to claim silver.

Jin is the first South Korean athlete to defend a Summer Olympic gold in an individual event.

Choi had a slow start to the final with an 8.8, while Jin, who was only the fifth-best qualifier, made a move with a 10.2. Choi still had a 6.6-point lead after four shots, but by then Jin climbed to second.

Choi's second misstep came with a 7.4 in the fifth shot. Jin hit a 10.6 to cut the lead nearly in half.

Choi bounced back with his 10.5 of the final in his sixth attempt, but Jin topped him with another 10.6. By this point, it was the two South Koreans battling for gold while Wang and Hoang Xuan Vinh competed for third.

Choi's lead over Jin was reduced to 1.7 points, as Choi's 9.0 was bettered by Jin's 10.3. Choi still had hopes after finding 9.4 with the penultimate shot before going offline with his last bullet. (Yonhap News)
