Closed road reborn as world’s longest box car race track
A road on a closed national highway in Hoengseong, Gangwon Province, reopened as Hoengseong Luge, a 2.4-kilometer-long track for racing unmotorized carts down -- also known as luge in korea. Hoengseong invested 2.7 billion won ($2.3 million) in crafting the tourist destination out of part of the National Route 42, which is closed. Facebook rushes to delete misinformation about COVID-19
Facebook deleted about 7 million posts in the second quarter that were deemed to contain misinformation about the novel coronavirus, the social media company said. Content considered to contain false information on virus prevention and treatment made up a big portion of the deleted posts. Facebook explained that its artificial intelligence monitoring technology greatly contributed to the massive deletions from April to June as the company moved to remote working amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

Masks to be mandatory on Busan’s Haeundae Beach
Visitors to Haeundae Beach in Busan will face fines if caught not wearing face masks from July 20. South Korea’s top mobile messenger application KakaoTalk has more users than that of Naver, the nation’s biggest portal, data showed. Heavy rain, strong winds expected in Korea
Heavy rain and strong winds are expected to hit the country Monday afternoon, starting in Jeju Island and gradually moving up. Seoul to install more waste bins on streets
The Seoul Metropolitan Government said Monday it will set up an additional 657 waste receptacles on Seoul streets this year, raising the total number from 6,940 to 7,597. There were 7,607 outdoor trash containers in Seoul in 1995, when the volume-based waste fee system was officially launched.
