쌍용자동차가 최근 “Tivoli (티볼리)”와 “Luvent (루벤트)”에 대해 미국 특허청에 상표등록을 한 것으로 22일 확인됐다. 오랫동안 준비해왔던 미국 진출이 초읽기에 들어간 것으로 보인다. 쌍용의 첫 소형 SUV인 티볼리는 21일 외관이 처음 공개되면서 인기몰이가 한창이다. 공식 출시는 내년 1월 13일로 예정돼 있다. 한편 "루벤트"는 아직 생소한 이름인데 일각에서는 쌍용이 새롭게 준비하고 있는 소형 세단이나 해치백의 이름으로 거론되고 있다. 대형세단인 체어맨 이외에 세단 모델이 없는 쌍용으로서는 모기업인 인도의 마힌드라가 최근 인수한 스웨덴의 사브(Saab)와 합작 프로젝트를 기대해 볼 수도 있다. 쌍용은 올해 11월까지 약 13만대의 차량을 판매했는데 이 중 절반을 해외시장에 수출했다. 러시아, 유럽, 중국 등이 주요 시장인 반면 미국에는 아직까지 진출을 못했다. 마힌드라가 사브를 인수하면서 쌍용은 판매망을 공유하는 등 미국 진출 시 시너지를 발휘할 것으로 보인다. 이
