Tasmania's newest Spirit of Tasmania vessel is in the open water but infrastructure delays mean instead of sailing to Bass Strait, it's heading to Scotland, tens of thousands of kilometres away. With a deal for storing it there yet to be finalised, the ferry fiasco is set to dominate a week of parliamentary hearings putting government businesses under the microscope.
