Pro-Palestinian events in both Melbourne and Sydney will go ahead despite calls to have them shut down. In Sydney police launched a supreme court bid to stop the events, citing safety concerns. But, this afternoon, the case was abandoned. Melbourne organisers say peaceful events here will proceed with thousands of people expected to march on Sunday followed by a vigil on Monday, marking the one-year anniversary of the Israel Gaza conflict.
