Emergency services were called to the property at crofts place about a quarter to eleven this morning. Fire crews managed to put the blaze out, but a person was found dead inside the house. Police are yet to release any details about the person who has died such as their age or gender or whether they were a resident. Neighbours have told the ABC the people who lived in the home had done so for many years. Siro Pandolfo, Neighbour – “The lady there, the mother was a good friend with my wife. Yes, we’ve been good friends, they are wonderful people.” DET. INSP. Matt Sprague, ACT Police – “The Fire is being deemed suspicious and a man is assisting police with their enquiries”. Investigators worked throughout the afternoon to comb the scene in search of any details.
