An international trade fair for South Korean food and agricultural products will take place later this week to help local firms go overseas and export their goods, the government said Monday.
Some 290 South Korean food and beverages companies will participate in the "Buy Korean Food" fair, which will be held at the aT Center in southern Seoul on Wednesday and Thursday, according to the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
About 160 foreign buyers from 23 countries, including Japan, China and India, are scheduled to attend the fair to seek opportunities to import Korean food products, it added.
The two-day event will include person-to-person consultation sessions, seminars and food exhibitions, aimed at giving South Korean firms wider opportunities to show off their products and meet with foreign retailers and importers.
South Korean-produced rice, tea, fruit, drinks and other confectioneries will be presented at the fair, the ministry added.
"The event is aimed at helping South Korean exporters find new customers and acquire fresh information on fast-changing overseas markets," the ministry said. (Yonhap)
