Korean-American Ilram Choi is the man inside the suit in ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2’

The man inside the Spider-Man suit in the recently released Hollywood blockbuster “The Amazing Spider Man 2” is not only Andrew Garfield, but also Korean-American Ilram Choi.
According to Sony Pictures Releasing Walt Disney Studios Korea on Monday, “The Hollywood stuntman Ilram Choi has participated as one of Andrew Garfield’s stunt doubles in the recent Amazing Spider-Man movie series, as he did during the first movie.”

According to the motion picture distributor, Choi has studied diverse forms of martial arts including taekwondo, judo, aikido, muay thai and kung fu from an early age and went on to study film during college.
Choi initially introduced himself to South Korean audiences in 2009 when he appeared in “Avatar” as protagonist Jake Sully’s stunt double. Since then, Choi has participated in various major films including “Thor: The God of Thunder” in 2011, “The Amazing Spider-Man” in 2012, “G. I. Joe: Retaliation” in 2013 and “Iron Man 3” in 2013.
The director of “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” Marc Webb personally posted pictures of Choi working on set via social media during the film’s shooting.
“Choi [as my stunt double] makes me look good. True collaboration exists between us,” stated Spider-man actor Andrew Garfield, according to Sony Pictures Releasing Walt Disney Studios Korea.
