Singers Tony An and Hyeri of K-pop girl group Girls’ Day have split up because of their “busy schedules,” their respective agencies said Friday.
“Yes, they’ve broken up,” said an official from Hyeri’s agency Dream Tea Entertainment. “Girls’ Day had been occupied by series of activities this year, and I think the same can be said for Tony An.”
The official said that the two singers ended their relationship amicably, and added that they will remain friends.
An’s agency, TN Entertainment, also confirmed that the two are no longer dating.
The news of An and Hyeri’s relationship had grabbed attention immediately after it was made public in April, largely due to the their 16-year age gap. The 35-year-old An, a former member of popular boy band H.O.T., and the 19-year-old Hyeri had been together since March.
