정우-고아라 '응답하라 1994' 주연 확실시

배우 정우와 김성균, 유연석, 고아라 등이 케이블채널 tvN 드라마 ‘응답하라 1994’(극본 이우정, 연출 신원호)를 통해 안방극장을 찾을 예정이다.

6월 21일 정우 소속사 벨액터스 측은 “일찌감치 ‘응답하라 1994’ 출연 제안을 받았다. 감독님께서 워낙 좋게 봐주셨다”고 전했다.

이어 “현재 ‘최고다 이순신’ 촬영과 ‘응답하라 1994’ 캐릭터 준비를 겸하고 있다. 좋은 연기를 보여드릴 테니 예쁘게 봐 달라”고 덧붙였다.

또 김성균 소속사 판타지오도 출연 소식을 전하며 첫 주연 드라마에 대한 기대감을 드러냈다. 아울러 유연석과 고아라 등도 현재 출연에 대해 긍정적으로 논의 중인 것으로 알려졌다.

'응답하라 1994'는 전국 각지에서 상경한 대학생들이 한 하숙집에 모여 벌어지는 이야기를 그리게 된다. 전작의 신원호 PD와 이우정 작가가 다시 한 번 호흡을 맞추며 인기를 이어갈 예정이다.

현재까지 ‘응답하라 1994’에 대한 자세한 내용은 알려지지 않고 있다. 전체적인 틀과 주연 배우들의 윤곽만 잡혀있을 뿐 비밀 엄수를 철저하게 지키고 있다.

Casting call for sequel of 'Reply 1997' revealed

Cable channel tvN unveiled the cast for its upcoming television drama “Reply 1994,” the sequel to the last year’s hit, consisting of new faces and characters to continue the success of the prequel.

The broadcaster said it is almost confirmed that Go A-ra, Jung Woo, Yoo Yeon-seok and Kim Sung-kyun would star in the drama and all that remains id for them to sign contracts.

“The principle of the casting was to pick actors who don’t have a certain imprinted image yet have a good acting skill,” Shin Won-ho, the producer of the drama who also directed “Reply 1997” said.

Jung Woo, who previously played supporting roles in a number of works, was named the main character who comes up to Seoul to study and lodges at Go A-ra’s house.

“Reply 1997” gained popularity with nostalgic themes, revisiting the youth culture in the 1990’s with all the frenzy over idol groups such as H.O.T. and Sechs Kies. The drama had a record audience rating of six percent, an unusually high figure for a drama aired by a cable channel.

“Reply 1994” goes back three years further than the first show when the basketball championship and the first modern band, Seo Tai-ji and Boys, swept through Korea’s young generation. Filming is set to begin in the middle of July and the drama will air in September.
