정규 5집 발표를 앞둔 가수 이효리(34)가 6일 직접 작사•작곡한 선공개곡 '미스코리아'로 각종 온라인 음원차트에서 정상을 차지 했다.

이효리는 이날 정오 '미스코리아'의 음원과 뮤직비디오를 공개했으며, 이후 멜론•벅스•엠넷•소리바다•올레뮤직 등 실시간 음원차트에서 1위에 올랐다.

그는 "명품 가방이 날 빛내주나요 / 예뻐지면 그만 뭐든 할까요 / 자고 나면 사 라지는 그깟 봄 신기루에 / 매달려 더 이상 울고 싶진 않아…"라고 미(美)를 바라보는 비뚤어진 세태를 풍자한다.

이 곡은 강렬한 댄스곡이었던 전작 '치티 치티 뱅뱅'과는 달리 어쿠스틱한 멜로디가 돋보이며, 특히 이효리와 3년째 교제 중인 가수 겸 기타리스트 이상순이 편곡을 맡은 점이 눈에 띈다.

소속사는 "'미스코리아'는 이효리의 작사•작곡 실력을 엿볼 수 있는 곡"이라며 "이 시대를 살아가는 모든 한국 여성들에게 희망을 전하는 노래"라고 소개했다.

한편, 이효리는 오는 21일 정규 5집을 공개한다. 지난 2010년 4월에 발표한 4집 '에이치 - 로직(H - Logic)' 이후 3년 만의 새 앨범이다.

Lee Hyori returns with an ‘all-kill’ as Miss Korea

The K-pop diva Lee Hyori has finally made her way back to the stage after a three-year hiatus from the music scene with her newest single “Miss Korea,” which was unveiled on Monday. “Miss Korea” is a pre-release single from her soon-to-be-released fifth studio album and the track achieved an “all-kill” almost immediately upon its releasing by topping all the major Korean music charts including Melon, Daum, Bugs and Mnet.

Miss Korea” was both written and composed by the diva herself and has a more sophisticated and retro feel and the typical energetic dance tracks that Lee has been known for previously. The full-version of music video was also released on the same day and is a black and white video depicting the star as a 50s-like glamorous Miss Korea pageant crown holder.

Representative of Lee’s agency B2M Entertainment previously announced that they plan to produce five music videos for the star’s upcoming album, which is expected to be released on May 21.
