Girl group T-ara has recently been surrounded by a bullying scandal, as speculations ran rampant that one member, Ryu Hwa-young, 19, was bullied by her groupmates.

On Tuesday, she confirmed on Twitter that there was, in fact, a dispute between the members and herself over differences of opinion, but also expressed that she wants to move on.

Hwa-young wrote she did not feel good reading that fellow member Eun-jung’s was abruptly cut from the drama “Five Fingers.” Hwa-young also said her heart broke when she read made-up stories and exaggerated media claims that exacerbated the situation.

Because of her fond memories with the other members, Hwa-young said she wishes to forget the past and wants all the girls to be able to wish each other luck on future endeavors. She ended by apologizing to fans for worrying them.

When the scandal first broke, T-ara’s agency Core Entertainments refuted the bullying claims. However, the aftermath of the scandal left the girl group in a critical situation. Member Eun-jung, who was scheduled to lead in a new SBS drama “Five Fingers,” was asked to leave after fans called for her to step down from the role.

Hwa-young reportedly wrote the Twitter posts because she felt saddened by Eun-jung’s forced exit from the drama.

화영 고백, "티아라 멤버들과 대립 있었다"


‘왕따 논란’을 일으키며 티아라에서 탈퇴한 화영(19)이 28일 “멤버들과 의견차로 대립한 건 사실이지만 지난 일을 잊고 서로를 응원하고 싶다”는 심경을 밝혔다.

화영은 이날 트위터 글을 통해 “은정 언니 드라마 하차 기사를 접하고 마음이 좋지만은 않았다”며 “티아라 활동을 하면서 멤버들과 의견차로 인해 대립이 있었던 건 사실이지만 그로 인해 왕따설이 돌고 상황이 악화된 사실에 마음이 아팠다. 또 왜곡된 사실들로 인해 상처 받아 많이 속상했다”고 말했다.

그는 이어 “하지만 한솥밥을 먹고 지내며 행복했던 날들도 있었기에 지난 일은 잊고 이젠 다시 웃는 얼굴로 서로를 응원하며 지내고 싶다”며 “티아라를 많이 사랑해주고 아껴주고 찾아주셨는데 이번 사건 때문에 여러분들에게 많은 심려와 걱정을 끼쳐드려 죄송하다”고 덧붙였다.

화영이 이 같은 글을 올린 것은 지난달 말 자신이 탈퇴하며 불거진 ‘왕따설’의 여파가 한달째 지속되고 있기 때문으로 풀이된다.

소속사인 코어콘텐츠미디어가 화영의 ‘왕따설’은 사실이 아니라고 밝혔음에도 은정이 이 사건의 여파로 출연 예정이던 SBS 주말드라마 ‘다섯손가락’에서 하차하는 사태까지 벌어졌기 때문이다.

한 가요 관계자는 “은정이 드라마에서 하차하는 등 티아라 사태의 여진이 계속되자 화영이 안타까운 마음에 글을 올린 것으로 보인다”고 말했다.
